As the result of a life changing 14 - year dementia care experience, Karen founded the Long Term Care Planning Network, Canada’s leading resource centre for ageing and long term care planning and education. Her seminar series, web site and print tools are recognized as key long term care educational resources for Canadians and their families.  

For over 20 years Karen has been a well-known speaker, educator, publisher and consultant in the field of long term care. Over the years she has sat on many not-for-profit/government committees concerned with ageing, Alzheimer’s disease, and elder abuse. She has created courses on ageing/long term care planning for several financial services organizations and contributed chapters to professional courses on all aspects of long term care.

Since the inception of COVID-19 Karen has been listening to Canadians’ worries about our long term health care system and is now spending more time developing presentations to help professional advisors ensure that their clients age with independence, dignity and control.
